Algarve Retreat, May 2026
• Wed. 20th - Mon. 25th May, 2026 •
Nestled in a valley within the Serra de Monchique mountains of Algarve, southern Portugal, we’ll spend five nights getting away from stress and overwhelm. This is the revitalising getaway you’ve been waiting for: a return to a more natural space to slow down and let someone else take care of the planning. We're retreating to a stunning, rustic countryside home, complete with a natural pool, fire pit and lots of space for resting, socialising or exploring.
You can join in solo, with a partner or with pals, and you definitely don’t need to be particularly bendy, strong or “good” at yoga poses to participate. This is a time for you to enjoy some movement and stillness, rest, reconnect with yourself, and be as social, active, quiet or potato-y as you want.
Sound good? Join me over the late May Bank Holiday in 2026!

Casa de Cura
This beautiful mountain home where we’re staying is fully off-grid, and sustainability is at the heart of all that they do. All of the food is sourced locally, with many ingredients grown in their very own garden. Water is sourced fresh from the mountains (Monchique is well known for its water), and energy from the 300 days of annual sunshine in the Serra de Monchique mountain range.
All bedrooms and living quarters are thoughtfully designed with a rustic feel in keeping with the surrounding landscape, to bring a sense of calm. And the little village of buildings that constitute the property, full of nooks to read in and corners to tuck into for chats, really allows for some alone time if you need it. With al fresco dining, communal spaces both in and outdoors and two yoga spaces available, you will have ample space to gather with the small group (12 of us at most) as much or as little as you’d like.
Feel free to contact me if you have any specific requests or questions.

The Yoga
We are spoiled for choice with our practice options, with a sun-drenched meditation deck and a covered outdoor shala tucked into an olive grove. Both settings are stocked with high-quality mats, bolsters, cushions and other props to support the practice.
Morning classes will be more energetic (flowing/vinyasa) but paced to cultivate awareness rather than sweat. The evening classes will be more meditative and static (think yin/nidra/restorative styles).
All classes will include asana (posture/movement), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation, with some yoga philosophy chats woven in. But don't worry, you don’t need to know yoga terms to practice! I always prioritise a low-pressure, welcoming, enjoyable environment in class.
I’m also more than happy to take requests on styles/types of classes, as I want you to have the best experience possible! The class lengths tend to be longer than a typical studio class, so we can take our time and cover the deeper aspects of yoga postures, alignment, or philosophy.
The classes are designed so that everyone in the group can join, whether you're new or experienced. It’s a practice for all to enjoy without the angst of having to look or be a certain way. Do you!
Getting There
The nearest airport is Faro, about 40-50 minutes by car. If flying into Faro, I recommend arriving at the airport between 12:30 and 2:00 pm so everyone can share a transfer/carpool. Alternatively, you’re welcome to hire a car (especially if you’re interested in venturing off-property more during your downtime) or book a pre-arranged taxi or an Uber from the airport on your own or in a smaller group. If enough of the group are interested in journeying up together, I’m happy to connect you for a group transfer to make transport from/to the airport most cost-efficient. For the return flight, I recommend any flight from 1:00 pm or later so you can join the final class and eat breakfast before departure. It will also make a group transfer back to Faro airport much more likely. If you prefer a later flight, you can spend the afternoon exploring Faro before heading back to the airport.
If you’re flying in from London and want in on the group transfer, here's a link with all the up-to-date direct flights that'll get you there in time (without having to wait around for hours and hours).
I’m happy to discuss travel options with you! If you’re looking to extend your trip, you could even travel by train to Faro and join the group transfer at the airport.
